Born in Fukuoka, Japan. He earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kyushu University. He began his career at Nippon Kokan (NKK, now JFE Engineering Corporation), where he was involved in the production of marine PC engines and managed both domestic and international environmental plant projects.
In May 2000, he founded I-Think Corporation to provide project management training and consulting services.
He has contributed a regular column titled "Introduction to Projects" in Nikkei Computer and frequently lectures at institutions such as the Project Management Institute of Japan, the Ministry of Defense, and various universities.
